Yukara-Geki (Ainu Play)

Performance starts from early April till the end of May. The performance will be held once every night.

It is a story handed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, re-presented here with added drama.

Marimo Festival

The festival starts from October 8th to 10th.

The festival is held to spread the message of Marimo protection. Ancient Ainu rituals, Ainu traditional dances and parades will be held during this period.

Fire festival of Iyomante (bear worshipping festival)

The festival starts from mid-October till early December.

Gathering around a bonfire, traditional Ainu dances will be performed, transporting guests to the ancient times of the Ainu.

Akan Lake Ice Festival

The festival starts from the last week of January till the last week of March.

Akan Lake will be transformed into a stage for winter festivities. Every night a small ceremony will be held and a fireworks display will be presented under the clear night sky.
